About

My name is Tamyka Perine

Tamyka Perine is a nonprofit executive, strategist, and policy advocate dedicated to advancing economic stability, equitable opportunity, and community-driven systems change. With more than 12 years of leadership in the nonprofit sector, she has built a reputation for strengthening organizations, elevating community voices, and aligning policy, philanthropy, and advocacy to improve outcomes for families.

Tamyka’s journey has been defined by mission-driven growth and transformation. During her tenure at LEAD STL, she led a strategic rebranding that doubled the organization’s operating budget and expanded programming from serving 30 young leaders annually to more than 300 in just two years. Prior to that, she led development efforts at City Academy and founded Prestige Consultants, through which she has consulted with local and national organizations to sharpen mission, operations, and impact.

In 2025, Tamyka mobilized philanthropy, government, and community partners to raise and distribute more than $1 million in emergency resources in response to the St. Louis tornado and SNAP crisis. She works closely with bipartisan local and state policymakers to elevate community priorities and ensure policies reflect the real needs of families.

She holds a degree from Alabama A&M University, and her community commitments include being named 2025 Scholar-in-Residence for the Washington University Clark-Fox Policy Institute, service on boards such as Ready Readers, Girls in the Know, Almost Home and Center for Creative Arts (COCA), as well as, active involvement in local civic and professional organizations.

Tamyka brings to her work a blend of vision, grit, and relational leadership—driven by the belief that meaningful change happens when people partner, listen, and act together.
